I was honored to work on this project when I joined Envar who assembled an amazing team to put their new 3D pipeline to the test. This test was in the form of a fan art challenge: creating 2 unique weapon designs inspired by Valorant that we brought from 2D concept through all development stages all the way to finalized, playable in-game content with accompanying renders and art. My role was modeling, texturing, and rigging the weapons which were concepted by the super talented ByungJun Park!
It was really important not only to fit the game's artstyle and lore, but also to translate the 2D concept as faithfully as possible to a 3D model whilst also meeting all necessary technical specifications. This included studying the technical aspects of Valorant's weapons and how they are set up. The end product is something that a client could very quickly implement and would be compatable with their existing materials, rigging, and animations set up.
